StealthBet

A new brand was needed for a Japanese online casino. The brand needed to be cool and sleek and have a cyberpunk vibe. Along with the usual assets such as logos, colour pallet, and UI -  a mascot was also required. Another requirement of the brief is that we were to use Ai image generation in creating this character. Myself and another colleague worked on ideas for creating these. 

Very early on in the project long before it really kicked off, I had some rough ideas for a robot character (see sketches). One of these was a floating robot cat with blue LCD eyes. The idea was kept as a concept for quite a long time before it actually became part of the finished design.

If the brand name ’Stealthbet’ was going to use an animal mascot then it would need to be a stealthy animal. In the visuals you can see we explored different kinds of animal designs. I tried different ideas with a chameleon, owl and a cat. The chameleon character was based on one of my sketches. I needed to create a rough mock up of it in Photoshop to show the Ai what I wanted it to create, because it was quite an unusual design - its face is actually the chameleon's mouth and the 'horns' are pointy chameleon eyes. 

We also tried a totally different approach just before this and created some human characters. My design of the female cyber punk girl used traditional illustration and Ai was used for the background image. The very last image shows the evolution of the mascot from rough concept to final design and banner designs.
