Lucky emojis for LINE

For this project, I designed and animated a series of emojis based on Vera & John’s Japanese mascot, Lucky. These were to be used on LINE (the popular Japanese equivalent of What’s App).

While this project kicked off I was away on maternity leave, so this project also became a collaboration with Illustrator Natasha Molins who joined our team in my absence. She created some cool versions of Lucky that I took inspiration from. When I returned I used Natasha’s character design ideas and tweaked them to be more inline with a Japanese audience. I then created a set of vector illustration animations of Lucky in Adobe Animate (Flash). I exported them as various formats so they could be used across different platforms.
